The study of tourist behaviour has become an active and significant contributor in the overall analysis of tourism. This paper considers recent research work at James Cook University, an institution whose researchers have had a long interest in tourist behaviour topics. A review of a number of recent research projects in tourist behaviour by the Australian research team is provided and the value of four integrating concepts linking this research is specified. The four concepts highlighted are the travel career ladder which is an approach to tourist motivation, cognitive steps and mindfulness, which are conceptual organisers of how people think and process information and social situations which provides an integrative view of key factors to consider when describing social behaviour. The paper concludes by highlighting some recent commentary on tourist behaviour trends by prominent tourism analysts noting that the specific stream of tourist behaviour studies reported in this article do not fully support the general trends noted by the commentators. In many societies, the scale of demographic change associated with increased longevity has the potential to influence the market for consumer goods. As a result, continuous improvement in packaging design that takes into account the needs of older people should become an important challenge for both packaging producers and product manufacturers. Due to the fact that there is limited research concerning the design of food packaging for older people, the aim of the study was to identify the expectations of this group of consumers in this respect. Milk packaging was selected as a model subject of study. Factors influencing older consumers and their buying patterns when purchasing milk have been thoroughly examined. The research was conducted among people over the age of 60 with the use of three methods: a questionnaire (600 subjects), an in‐depth interview (60 subjects) and eye tracking (30 subjects). The results of the study show that older consumers have specific preferences regarding packaging type and design. When considering milk packaging, for example, they prefer glass bottles, simple graphics and font and subdued colours. They most frequently look for information concerning the product's expiration date, its producer's name and its composition. Eye tracking revealed that the older the consumers are, the more problems with finding expiration date they have. The time required to find such information, however, strongly depends on where exactly the expiration date is printed on the packaging. The preferred place in this case is the top of the bottle. Older consumers identify product's brand with the name of the producer. Moreover, the absence of the term ‘ingredients’: on the milk packaging oftentimes causes confusion among older people, who are concerned about potential food additive content. 相似文献

This paper assesses the relative sophistication of the Korean export products in manufacturing industry both across and within products between 1989 and 2012 using the very detailed United States import data. I first compare Korea's export performance in the US market in terms of market share, product penetration and export similarity to those of its rival countries. Next, I propose far more extensive estimates of difference in export quality between Korea and its trading rivals. The estimated quality difference reveals substantial heterogeneity across products and countries. In particular, this paper shows that the current greatest competitor of Korea is still Japan in the US market, but China is steadily climbing up the quality ladder and is chasing after Korea. 相似文献

Based on the critical behavioral event interviews with 18 senior managers of family firms, the current study developed a competency
model for senior managers of family firms in China. The primary findings are as follows. First, using the Critical Behavioral
Event Interview (BEI) to develop the competency model of senior managers, the occurrence frequency and mean level scores of
competencies are comparatively stable measures and the competencies’ maximal level scores are influenced by interview length.
The study also found that both mean level scores and maximal level scores can differentiate superior senior managers from
average senior managers of family firms. Second, the competency model of senior managers of family firms in China includes
11 competencies, namely authority orientation, initiative, opportunity-seizing, information seeking, organizational awareness,
direction, benevolence orientation, self-control, self-confidence, self-learning, and impact and influence. Among them, nine
competencies are consistent with those of the generic competency model of senior managers of Western enterprises and five
with those of the generic competency model of senior managers of state-owned firms in China. Our results revealed that the
authority orientation and benevolence orientation are the two competencies unique to the senior managers of family firms in
China.

基于压力理论和制度理论,以2014—2018年沪深A股非金融类上市公司为研究对象,探究中注协约谈与执业质量检查的叠加监管压力对审计质量的影响。实证结果表明,在中注协约谈与执业质量检查的叠加监管压力下,审计师显著提升了审计质量。进一步研究发现,行业叠加监管压力对审计质量的提升作用只在当面约谈、签字注册会计师同性别、签字注册会计师平均执业年限较长、签字注册会计师年平均客户数量较少时才明显;行业叠加监管压力与法律监管压力之间存在着替代作用;在面对行业叠加监管压力时,审计师也收取了一定的溢价。研究结论能够明晰审计师面临行业叠加监管压力时的行为表现,也对证券审计市场行业自律性监管具有借鉴意义。 相似文献

This paper examines the growth effects of intellectual property right (IPR) protection in a quality-ladder model of endogenous
growth. Stronger IPR protection, which reduces the imitation probability, increases the reward for innovation. However, stronger
protection also gradually reduces the number of competitive sectors, in which innovation is easier than in monopolistic sectors.
With free entry to R&D, the number of researchers in each remaining competitive sector increases, but the concentration of
R&D activity raises the possibility of unnecessary duplication of innovation, thereby hindering growth. Consequently, imperfect
rather than perfect protection maximizes growth. Welfare and scale effects are also examined. 相似文献
